A Postcard from Beirut
‘Kaak’ is inspired by the rhythmic streets of Beirut, where the oval-shaped, sesame-crusted bread defines both taste and motion. Its circular forms, textured surfaces, and gentle repetition inform the design.
Echoing the perforated facade of the Koujak Jaber building, the rug mirrors the city’s architectural poetry, where rounded openings and repeating shapes bring harmony and rhythm to everyday life. Each circle celebrates the lively intersections of street food, urban design, and daily ritual, capturing Beirut’s generosity, pace, and warmth in a tactile form. The result is a carpet that transforms simple, beloved motifs into a visual and sensory journey.
