A Postcard from Riyadh

β€˜Starry Night’ is an ode to Arabic hospitality under desert skies, where tradition, connection, and generosity unfold beneath a canopy of stars. Inspired by the timeless image of friends and family gathered on a rug beneath the night sky, the design merges the celestial with the earthly, blurring the boundary between above and below.

From a top view, the silhouettes of figures in white thobes and headscarves are arranged around an invisible meal, creating a quiet composition of presence and stillness. Above them, glittering stars scatter across the surface. The rug becomes both sky and ground, a space of reflection and gathering.

This piece captures the sacred pause of desert nights, the warmth of shared meals, the dignity of tradition, and the comfort of being together under something infinite.
